Manchester Ward 10 Aldermanic Candidate Tammy Simmons

Free State Project Honorary Members

Free State Project “Honorary” Members are those individuals who have worked to support the growth of the Free State Project in New Hampshire, and who actively participate in numerous Free State Project activities. The designation is used rarely and only when an individual has demonstrated considerable ties and support for the project.

Manchester Ward 10 Aldermanic Candidate Tammy Simmons

Manchester Ward 10 Aldermanic candidate Tammy Simmons moved to New Hampshire of her own accord, but has demonstrated considerable ties to the Free State Project:

Simmons actively participates in Free State Project forums, discussions, and other activities. Simmons has participated in Free State Project activities since at least 2008, helping support the growth and advancement of the Free State Project in New Hampshire. Simmons served as an early volunteer organizer with the NH Liberty Forum, and actively encouraged people to attend the Free State Project’s signature event. As an advocate and organizer for activities hosted by the Free State Project, Simmons has attempted to use her own political standing to help validate the Free State Project in New Hampshire. Simmons has purposely hired Free State Project members to work for her on several candidate and issue campaigns. Simmons has a history of actively and pointedly soliciting Free State Project involvement in New Hampshire politics, which has helped build the network and connections of Free State Project candidates and activists. During the 2014 State House elections, Simmons and her boyfriend, Free State Project member Dan Garthwaite, ran for the State House together. Why is Simmon’s FSP Affiliation Important?

The ultra-extreme Free State Project voted on a state to move 20,000 people to, with the stated purpose to take over state government and dismantle it. The Free State Project seeks to create a libertarian “utopia” void of public infrastructure and common laws, and to use the power of numbers to dramatically change New Hampshire – even threatening secession from the rest of the country.[1] Honorary members like Tammy Simmons are actively working to help the Free State Project fulfill those goals.

[1] “Once we’ve taken over the state government, we can slash state and local budgets, which make up a sizeable proportion of the tax and regulatory burden we face every day. Furthermore, we can eliminate substantial federal interference by refusing to take highway funds and the strings attached to them. Once we’ve accomplished these things, we can bargain with the national government over reducing the role of the national government in our state. We can use the threat of secession as leverage to do this.” [Announcement:
The Free State Project by Founder Jason Sorens]
