Manchester Ward 5 Aldermanic, Selectman Candidate Cameron Barr

Free State Project members sign a pledge to move to New Hampshire and work to change the way of life in our state. They do not move here for a job, or for family, or even because they like what New Hampshire has to offer. Instead, they move here because a political group they are affiliated with voted on a state to move to in order to enact a political agenda, and New Hampshire was the unlucky recipient of that vote.

Manchester Ward 5 Aldermanic, Selectman Candidate Cameron Barr

Manchester Ward 5 Aldermanic and Selectman Candidate Cameron Barr moved to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project in 2015. Barr has demonstrated considerable ties to the Free State Project, including:

Barr talked extensively about his move to New Hampshire as part of the Free State Project in a 2016 interview. In the interview Barr stated he moved to Manchester in November of 2015. Barr found a place to live through prominent Free Stater, realtor, and former State Representative Mark Warden. Barr’s address as listed in his candidacy filing is in a building owned by Alexander Muller, a Free State Project “early mover.” An upstairs tenant in the same building is Amanda Bouldin, well-known Free Stater and State Representative. Barr attended the 2012 Liberty Forum, an official Free State Project event. Barr told his interviewer that he had visited New Hampshire only once before moving, when he attended the 2012 Liberty Forum. Barr also said that he had arrived during the 2015 Keenevention, a Free State Project-associated event, which he attended for three days. Barr volunteered to be a media contact for NH Exit, a Free State Project-associated secessionist organization. Barr was named as a media contact for NH Exit, an organization started by, and led by, Free Staters that promotes the secession of New Hampshire from the United States. Separately, Barr has participated, with other Free Staters, in acting to thwart a police DUI checkpoint in Manchester.

Why is Cameron Barr’s FSP Affiliation Important?

The ultra-extreme Free State Project voted on a state to move 20,000 people to, with the stated purpose to take over state government and dismantle it. The Free State Project seeks to create a libertarian “utopia” void of public infrastructure and common laws, and to use the power of numbers to dramatically change New Hampshire – even threatening secession from the rest of the country.[1] Members like Cameron Barr are actively working to help the Free State Project fulfill those goals.

[1] “Once we’ve taken over the state government, we can slash state and local budgets, which make up a sizeable proportion of the tax and regulatory burden we face every day. Furthermore, we can eliminate substantial federal interference by refusing to take highway funds and the strings attached to them. Once we’ve accomplished these things, we can bargain with the national government over reducing the role of the national government in our state. We can use the threat of secession as leverage to do this.” [Announcement:
